Head of Sales and Marketing – Education Technology – Salary up to £70,000 - Manchester

Working as part of the senior leadership team you will lead on sales and business development in UK and abroad. The company provides a range of award-winning cloud solutions in digital assessment technology to the higher education sector in the UK and internationally.
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Develop and implement sales and management strategies to accelerate European growth
  • “Hands on” sales / business development within the Higher Education Sector
  • Lead, direct and develop a team of two salespeople
  • Monitor performance of sales and marketing activities based on key metrics
  • Drive approach into target lists and presenting the software as a services product through virtual conferences and webinars to potential customers
  • Prepare reports and insight to share with rest of senior management
  • Conduct research to identify new markets, assess market fit and customer needs
  • Develop a plan professionalisation of marketing and social media
  • Develop and execute go-to-market and operational strategies to achieve business goals
  • Role is Manchester-base with travel within the UK and occasionally Europe (circa 30 days a year travel) 
Experience required:
  • Previous experience in a Senior Sales role with experience of selling a technology product to the public sector
  • Understanding of the higher education landscapes and trends is ideal, but not essential
  • Proven experience as a driven sales and business developer
  • Operational and strategic sales experience
  • Ability to drive the sales process from planning to closing
  • Ability to favourably position products against competitors
  • Experience of selling a technology based / Saas product into public sector (long sales cycle)
  • Experience of presenting technology products through virtual conferences and webinars
  • Working on bids and tender processes
