Junior python developer – REMOTE – £25,000-£30,000

We are looking for a junior software engineer, who is skilled in using Python as a programming language. This is a exciting opportunity, as it is a chance to work on existing and greenfield projects due to begin. You will also have the opportunity to upskill yourself and become a full-stack developer. You will be working alongside word-class composites engineers, and you will be the driver behind the software of technologically advanced, state of the art machines.
Our precision engineering client has some of the biggest customers in the aerospace industry, they manufacture bespoke solutions that work incredibly well, reduce costs and reduce waste in the supply chain.

What will you be doing?
You will assist and support the continued development of bespoke inhouse software and integration with third party software. Your duties will primarily revolve around developing and building new software, modifying existing software to improve performance and fix errors. You should have good communication and computer skills and possess a willingness to learn and acquire new skills.
  • You will in assist in all aspects of software design and coding.
  • You will have strong knowledge of databases and back-end database functionality.
  • You will be writing and testing code, debugging programs and integrating applications with third-party web services.
  • You will assist in the gathering and documenting requirements of business users and customers.
  • You will be conducting development tests, and writing reports
  • You will coordinate with internal and external teams to understand user requirements and provide technical solutions.
What are we looking for?
  • 1+ year commercial experience using Python
  • Familiarity with database technology and back-end development.
  • Some knowledge of of front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is desirable but not essential – this is an opportunity to upskill if you do not have front-end experience already.
  • You will be able to learn new software and technologies quickly.
